Streets of Chicago - Michigan Avenue

Date: 23-Nov-2006
Time: 7:45 p.m.

This was the Thanksgiving day, and the whole place was celebrating the day. Streets were awash with golden glow of the decor. Though the shops were closed for the day, people were thronging the Michigan Avenue, and I was no different. I joined my brother-in-law to check out the decor.

It was a pleasant surprise to see a horse cart here. I only thought they existed in India. But, as I saw it, kids and adults were enjoying the rides alike.

A completely lit up street. This one is also called as the Magnificent Mile. This street has many big names like Saks Fifth Avenue, Levi's and many other designer houses like Gucci, Hugo Boss, Givenchy, Chanel, Cartier, Burberry, La Perla, Ralph Lauren, Escada, and the list goes on...

This building is supposed to have survived The Great Chicago Fire in 1871. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Water_Tower)

This building is the Chicago Avenue Pumping Station.

A nicely decorated tree on the Michigan Avenue.

The main office of the Wrigley's, the chewing gum company.

A view from the bridge, down the river.

Is it the beauty or is it the beast?

Finally, a picture of me on the Michigan Avenue.

It was a great experience that evening. I will definitely go back to this street again, maybe during the day time, or perhaps after the snowfall. But for now, adios!!!

Nice work with digicam, its really tricky and sometimes tough to work with it while shooting nightlights. You get 10/10 for achieving this!
